The essence of a pure custom Feadship is always to meet the owner’s requirements. In this case full custom means new styling, layout and engineering solutions, both inside and out. These include an aft sea terrace for more intimate contact with the water, a free-standing staircase flanked by a wall of glass that extends over three deck levels, and an ingenious extendable balcony for the owner’s suite on the bridge deck. These and other bespoke solutions, both large and small, have been achieved by combining the wishes of the owner with the creativity of the designers and the experience of the shipyard.
On Vanish, Feadship went beyond the call of duty to meet its own high standards of perfection. The exterior styling by Eidsgaard Design, for example, called for extra thick teak caprails that follow the contours of the bulwarks. The joinery department created a life-size mock-up to perfect the lamination technique required to achieve diameters in excess of 25 centimetres.
The full-height atrium with its free-standing staircase and breath taking wall of glass is a unique feature on a 66-metre yacht. The challenging design brief required the glazing to continue uninterrupted from main deck to sundeck. Moreover, the staircase with its continuous glass balustrades that runs like a ribbon up though the atrium, had to be self-supporting. But Feadship is a pioneer in the structural and aesthetic use of glass, and thanks to some astute engineering what at first seemed mission impossible was made possible.
Based in the Netherlands and with roots dating back to1849, Feadship is recognised as the world leader in the field of custom superyachts. Each Feadship is defined by its superb craftsmanship and sets the standard in every aspect of design, engineering and construction. These bespoke motoryachts are created in partnership with owners who are prepared to invest in a wonderful building experience and reap the rewards for many years to come in terms of both pleasure and re-sale value. Feadship also operates dedicated charter and refit services exclusively for Feadship. www.feadship.nl / email@example.com
Step aboard the 2016 World Superyacht ‘Motoryacht of the Year’ Savannah, an 84-metre masterpiece of Feadship art and craftsmanship.
Savannah is a yacht full of premiers, including being the world’s first ever hybrid motor-superyacht and the first to be entirely metallic painted (except the mast domes). Her eco-friendly electro-mechanical propulsion platform and super streamlined hull shape offer fuel economies of 30% and incredible operational flexibility.
But there’s more to Savannah than power alone, as you can in this short video. Check out her superstructure, where the glass and composite panels appear to float thanks to visual trickery involving polished stainless steel strips, aluminium supports and teak. Look at how the stainless steel doors form part of the yacht’s continuous line and also appear to be floating thanks to the remarkable work of CG Design and Feadship’s designers.
Savannah’s interior is equally spectacular, including a ‘Nemo lounge’ where guests can watch the fish outside or turn around and observe the fun and games in the giant swimming pool. The room, which also converts into a cinema, is another first for a superyacht and features especially thick glass due to its position in the hull. Over a thousand people were involved in the creation of Savannah as Feadship proved once again its ability to venture into uncharted waters.”

This film was first shown at our in-stand movie theatre at the Monaco and Fort Lauderdale boat shows in 2015.
A completely insulated and soundproofed space included the world’s largest curved LED television, giving an impressive 105 inches of screen on which to show ‘This is Uniquity’. Filmgoers were regularly bombarded with scents that matched what was happening on the screen and the occasional waft of wind to heighten the interactive sensation.
Visitors to the stand were impressed: “It was a real sensory experience and this movie captures Feadship’s craftsmanship and attention to detail in a beautiful way.” “The visuals are incredible and the special effects, including the scent of metalwork, really bring uniquity to life.” “We love the way everything came together at the end, and the overall impression was both relaxing and overwhelming at the same time.”
We can’t replicate the smells and other special effects on YouTube but we can share the film that, while relatively short, took over a year to shoot.
